QRCA Views Article: When Is the Right Time for Webcam Focus Groups?
In the early stages of planning a research project, it can become clear that traditional in-person focus groups will be impractical. Traveling to different cities to meet respondents can be costly and time-consuming. Webcams offer a perfect solution by allowing the moderator to see respondents face-to-face while also reducing the time and expense of travel.
Tara Smith Chambers, Customer Experience Manager at 20|20 Research recently wrote an article for QRCA Views Summer 2011 issue illustrating scenarios where webcams offer advantages over in-person groups. This article covers how webcams can be used to:
- Shrink the project timeline
- Capture feedback in a natural setting
- Exercise greater control over stimuli
- Secure participation of a low-incidence population
